John Robert Stevens was ordained by the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in 1937. He transferred his ordination to the AG in 1949, but was dropped as a minister in 1951 after he became associated with the Latter Rain movement. In 1951, he founded Grace Chapel (South Gate, CA), which grew into a fellowship of churches, known as 'The Walk' or the Church of the Living Word. Later, this became known as the Living Word Fellowship.
